Pastor Tim's primary ministries include preaching, pastoral care, administration and occasional teaching. He sits on Financial Stewardship, Peace & Justice, and Fellowship Committees, and attends Church Board and Pastoral Council.
Pastor Tim has a Masters of Divinity degree from Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary (1985). He came to MCN in August of 1996, from his first pastorate at First Mennonite Church in Beatrice, Nebraska. He is married to Sue, and they have three grown children, a daughter-in-law, and two grandsons. Tim and Sue spent several years in Brazil with Mennonite Central Committee, and a summer in Kentucky as coordinators of the SWAP (Serving with Appalachian People) program during a sabbatical. In his spare time, Tim enjoys fishing, cycling, woodworking, and reading.
Jane T. Roeschley, Associate Pastor
Pastor Jane is the Associate Pastor of Lay Ministries and Worship. She commutes from the family farm, and serves MCN halftime. Jane staffs Worship, Outreach and Leadership Selection Committees, and attends Church Board and Pastoral Council meetings. She is also available for pastoral care and spiritual direction, as needed.
Pastor Jane came to MCN in 2000. She completed a Masters in Christian Formation at Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary in 2007. She is married to Mark, and they have three children. Mark and Jane spent three years in Jamaica with Mennonite Central Committee, and Jane was a high school teacher for several years prior to being home with young children. Jane enjoys movies, learning to flower garden, walks, tea dates and silent retreats.
Matthew D. Hickman, Associate Pastor
Pastor Matt is our newest staff member, serving as Associate Pastor of Youth and Family LIfe. He staffs the Christian Education and Youth Ministry Committees. He graduated from Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary with a Masters of Divinity in 2008. He holds a B.A. in Social Psychology from Goshen College. Matt has worked for nearly a decade in Mennonite camping.
Pastor Matt hails from southern Indiana, where he became a convicted Anabaptist, joining the Paoli Mennonite Fellowship. He is married to Deb, and they have two daughters. Matt collects comic books and enjoys Wednesday visits to ACME Comics in Uptown Normal. He is a current volunteer in the area of land management at two Mennonite camps. He has extensive experience in theatre, radio announcing, writing, and making concrete lawn ornaments.
Sue Schrag, Administrative Assistant
Sue began work at MCN in April 2008, after working for two other local congregations since 2000. She considers it an honor and a privilege to work with and for her own church.
Sue has a degree in elementary education, but ended up a fulltime mom and now seems to have found her niche as an administrative assistant. She is married to Pastor Tim, and they have three young adult children. Their grandsons are cause for frequent trips to central Kansas. Sue enjoys reading, crochet, tending her wooded corner of God's creation, and cycling, among many other things.
